The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is led by Nita Ahuja, MD, MBA, who became dean in 2025.
Nita Ahuja, MD, MBA
In addition to serving as dean of the School of Medicine and Public Health, Ahuja is the Robert Turell Professor in Medical Leadership and vice chancellor for medical affairs at UW–Madison, and serves as chair or vice chair in alternating terms on the board of the UW Hospitals and Clinics Authority.
Ahuja and a seasoned team of administrative leaders, guided by a strategic plan, are responsible for implementing the school’s mission, vision and values.
The team leads the first integrated school of medicine and public health in the nation. Focused on health promotion and disease prevention, the school is committed to discovering and advancing more effective approaches to diagnosing and treating illness in patients and populations, educating the next generation of students to tackle the problems of the future, and being a partner with our community to improve lives.
